Distance Learning Resources Offered to Hunterdon K-8 Schools

goHunterdon offers two robust K-8 educational programs for Hunterdon students~ Environmental Education and the Safe Routes to School bicycle and pedestrian safety program. Combined, these programs engage close to 2,000 Hunterdon students during the academic year.

When it was announced that schools would move to distance learning, goHunterdon responded by curating and creating distance learning resources for teachers and students.

The Environmental Education distance learning resources focus on alternative energies and air quality. The Safe Routes to School activities encourage students to walk and bike while reinforcing safety behaviors.  All of the resources focus on hands on, interactive learning.

Several of the Environmental Education resources support the distance learning of students who were participating in the Hunterdon County Junior Solar Sprints Program, a STEM aligned curriculum for students learn about alternative energy and then design, build, and race solar powered model cars. Unfortunately, the program had to be cut short and race day cancelled due to COVID19. We’re already planning for a bigger and better program for 2021.
