goHunterdon to Assist with Hunterdon “Complete Count” Efforts

Nearly $23 billion in federal funding for New Jersey depends on Census counts, including Medicaid, hospital funding, Title I school funding, child care, student loans, school meals, and highway and transportation funding.

Data collected as part of the 2020 Census, which gets underway next month, will dictate how federal funding is allocated for the next ten years.

It is important that Hunterdon communities obtain a complete count as part of the 2020 Census, to ensure that Hunterdon County is accurately represented and will be eligible to receive the appropriate federal funding for local needs.

goHunterdon will be working with United Way of Hunterdon County, the lead agency assisting the Hunterdon County Complete Count Committee (HCCCC), to implement a coordinated outreach plan with a goal that every resident in Hunterdon matters and gets counted.  Special emphasis will be on reaching out to Hunterdon County municipalities with previously low census response rates, including Flemington, Lambertville, Glen Gardner, Hampton, High Bridge, Lebanon, Annandale, the Town of Clinton and Union Township.

goHunterdon’s involvement will include public outreach and assistance with transportation to Census events to be scheduled by United Way of Hunterdon County.
