“Seniors on the Go” Program

“Seniors on the Go” Program

Seniors on the Go is a fun, interactive “Jeopardy” style presentation being offered by goHunterdon that explores ways for senior citizens to maintain their independence, enhance mobility and increase safety.

The presentation, which is made in person by goHunterdon staff, provides seniors with all of the information that they need to stay safe and mobile.  As participants “play” the game, they will learn about great places to walk or bicycle in Hunterdon County and how to stay safe while walking or bicycling.  Questions about how to safely share the road with bicyclists and pedestrians while behind the wheel, including the “Stop and Stay Stopped for Pedestrians in Crosswalks” law are explained. Other “categories” include information on available transportation options within Hunterdon County and resources available to keep seniors “On the Go”!

Presentations have been made at the Hunterdon County Senior Center; The Golden Club, Whitehouse; Herman E. Kapp Senior Residence, Flemington; and Alexandria Township Seniors Group. Upcoming presentations are scheduled at the Mirota Senior Residence, Whitehouse; Public Health Nursing, Flemington; and the Frenchtown Super Seniors, Frenchtown.
