Volunteers are asked to commit to at least 2 hours on race day

Race Track

Race Line Coordinators and Line judges are positioned at both the Start (Start Line Judge) and Finish lines (Finish Line Judge) of the race track to monitor the racers.

Start Line Coordinator
Start Line Coordinator is positioned at Start Line of the race track. The role of the start line coordinator is to make sure that the correct student teams are prepared to race, direct students to fix it table as needed and communicate with the Race Announcer that all racers are ready.

Start Line Judge
Start line Judges will watch to make sure that racers are all properly positioned behind the starting line and do not touch or push their vehicle forward.

Finish Line Judge
Finish Line Judges will watch the finish line to determine the “placing” of racers (1st, 2nd 3rd) and report race results to Scoreboard.

Fix-It Station The Fix-It Station provides students with access to tools and extra supplies to repair vehicles as needed during the competition. Fix it Station volunteers monitor student use of tools to ensure safety. Volunteers offer feedback to students as they troubleshoot vehicle performance. Volunteers are not permitted to work on vehicles on behalf of the students.

Set Up Assistance volunteers will help to set up the racetrack, tents, tables, chairs, signage, and equipment the morning of the event.

Break Down Assistance volunteers will help to break down and pack up the racetrack, tents, tables, chairs, signage, and equipment at the end of the event.
