Safe Routes to School Program Continues to Adapt During COVID19

Remote, virtual, hybrid, and “cohort” scheduling. Regardless of where students are learning this school year, goHunterdon continues to provide bicycle and pedestrian safety education to students in grades K-8 as part of the Hunterdon Safe Routes to School Program.

Lessons have been modified for remote delivery including live video conferencing, pre-recorded video lessons, outdoor classes, and “Lessons in a Box” for teachers to use in the classroom. Many of the lessons include a “Take it Outside” option to encourage students who are learning remotely to get outside in their neighborhood.

A distance learning portal which includes a number of fun activities that students may do independently is also available.
